Beyoncé has announced that her much-anticipated news, initially set for Tuesday, Jan. 14, has been postponed. The singer took to Instagram to explain that she decided to delay the announcement due to the wildfires in Los Angeles.
“The January 14th announcement will be postponed to a later date due to the devastation caused by the ongoing wildfires around areas of Los Angeles,” she stated. Beyoncé expressed her prayers for the healing and rebuilding of families affected by the fires and praised the efforts of first responders.
She also encouraged her fans to support those impacted by visiting her charity foundation, BeyGood. The decision came after she donated $2.5 million to L.A. relief funds through the BeyGood Foundation.
In an Instagram post, Beyoncé mentioned that the donation would aid families in the Altadena/Pasadena area who lost their homes, as well as churches and community centers affected by the wildfires.
Fans had been speculating about the Jan. 14 announcement since Beyoncé teased it in a cryptic video on Christmas Day. In the video, she appeared in an all-white outfit, sitting on a white horse, and waving a flag, leaving fans guessing whether the big reveal would be related to new music, visuals for recent projects, or a tour.
