Post Malone and Morgan Wallen’s recent chart illustrate that country music is currently exploding in the United Kingdom. Less than 2,000 chart units behind Carpenter’s leader, Posty and Wallen’s country-tinged collaboration “I Had Some Help” (Republic Records) debuts at No. 2 on the national chart.
That’s Wallen’s first and Malone’s eleventh UK top 10 hit.
“I Had Some Help” is one of three country songs of American origins now in the top 10 in the United Kingdom. The other two are Dasha’s “Austin” (down 9–10) and Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” (down 3–4 via American Dogwood/Empire).
Up 7-3, Tommy Richman, a rising American musician, completes the podium with “Million Dollar Baby” (ISO Supremacy/Pulse).
With his diss hit “Not Like Us” (Interscope), Kendrick Lamar is still rising, reaching a new peak position of 10-6. It’s one of the eight top 10 successes in the UK for the west coast rapper.
Mark Ambor, a singer-songwriter from New York, hopes to place his song “Belong Together” (Hundred Days) in the top 10 in the United Kingdom for the first time ever. The song by the viral artist rises 13–11, reaching a new peak in its ninth week on the poll. Myles Smith, an English musician from Luton, is not far behind with his first top 40 entry, “Stargazing” (via RCA), which debuted at No. 12.
