Returning to his Paramount+ series Mayor of Kingstown following a catastrophic snowplow accident in January 2023 was a critical juncture in Jeremy Renner’s actual rehabilitation.

He said to Yahoo Entertainment that he was aware of how draining the show is, even in good health. He is starring in and executive producing the third season, which premieres on June 2. “I could walk a hundred yards on average. But how resilient am I? I had terrible endurance.

The 53-year-old Mayor of Kingstown actor, who is best known for playing Hawkeye in the Marvel Avengers film series, was struck by his 14,000-pound snowplow at his Nevada home on January 1, 2023.

Renner had many shattered bones, chest damage, and a collapsed lung when he was taken to the hospital. It would take a while to stand up on my own again.

The Oscar-nominated actor and father of one started filming the crime thriller Kingstown, which is about a family of power brokers in Michigan who act as middlemen between the local prison, police enforcement, and gangs, after a full year of physical treatment and recuperation.

A year after the accident, Renner said he asked himself, “How do I come back?” and concluded that the performance itself could serve as a catalyst.

He remarked, “This is how I’m ‘getting outside the front gate.'” “Stop focusing just on recuperation and go out and engage in life’s activities. And allow that to play a role in your healing.

Renner returned to the show in January 2024, and just five months later, Season 3 is set to premiere. He attributes his success on that journey to the show itself and his love for the fictional mayor, Mike McLusky.
