Investigation into Fatal Crash at 10600 Katy Freeway

Houston police are investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian crash that occurred at 10600 Katy Freeway (West Interstate Highway 10) about 7:05 p.m. on Tuesday (Sept. 30).

The identity of the deceased male, 48, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant L. Le and Officer J. Quezada reported:

The driver of a gray Toyota 4Runner was traveling westbound at the above address when the driver struck a male pedestrian attempting to cross the freeway. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the male deceased.

The driver of the Toyota exited the freeway, parked in a parking lot nearby and  remained at the scene, did not show signs of intoxication, and was questioned and released.

The investigation is continuing.
