In Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals, the Boston Celtics won because the Indiana Pacers continued to turn the ball over.

Tyrese Haliburton committed two crucial turnovers, one at the end of regulation and the other in overtime, which enabled Boston to win 133–128 on Tuesday night after falling behind by five points in the last two minutes of the fourth quarter.

Simply turnovers. Turnovers,” announced Haliburton. “I think we lost the game because of two poor turnovers I made.”

After losing Game 1, the Pacers defeated the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round and the New York Knicks in the second before traveling to Boston. With 17 victories over the Pacers and seven victories over their nearest rival, the Celtics are the top-seeded club in the NBA.

Furthermore, it appeared as though the series might not even be close after Boston jumped out to a 12-0 lead on Tuesday night. However, Indiana led 115-110 with 1:57 remaining in regulation, tied the game at the half, and even had a three-point advantage with 40 seconds remaining.
