According to the court documents, the 11-year-old child told the doctors that she did not know she was pregnant because she didn’t know what pregnant felt like.
The victim also told told the health officials that she had se* with a 14-year-old boy at a county fair, but that was the furthest thing from the truth. When the doctors noticed that the dates of the alleged incident and her pregnancy didn’t match up, she finally confessed and told the truth.
The 11-year-old girl reportedly admitted that her grandfather had told her to make up the story about having se* with a 14-year-old at the county fair so he could avoid the consequences of raping her.
The then-55-year-old grandpa, Pruet, was sentenced to 200 years in prison for impregnating his 11-year-old granddaughter and molesting the girl’s younger sister.
He was arrested after the 11-year-old girl learned that she was 32 weeks pregnant. But, what’s even more sickening, the 11-year-old’s younger sister, who is 9-years-old, was made to witness the horrifying abuse before enduring her grandfather’s se-ual advances, as well. Pruet was the guardian of the two girls, giving him unfettered access to them whenever his sick se-ual fantasies arose.
Eventually, the 9-year-old told her biological mother that she had witnessed her grandfather se-ually assault her sister. She elaborated on this in an interview, saying that she would sometimes wake up and watch through a peeking hole in her bunk bed as Pruet molested her older sister, apparently in the same room. However, the 9-year-old girl didn’t just watch as Pruet stole her sister’s innocence; she was also assaulted by her grandfather, a man she loved and trusted.
According to the 9-year-old, Pruet had se-ually abused her by kissing her privates. He also tried to manipulate the younger sister into keeping the in-est a secret, as he had done with her 11-year-old sibling, but the truth came out because of the 11-year-old’s pregnancy. After the 11-year-old girl gave birth to her grandfather’s baby, he pleaded guilty to the awful crime.
This wasn’t his first time, either. Apparently, Pruet was also charged with lewd conduct with a minor and forced se-ual penetration in a different state two decades ago. Indeed, he should have never been allowed to serve as guardian for two young girls, both of whom the system failed. Judge Langton said Pruet seemed to lack any semblance of a conscience at court. He sentenced the man to 100 years each on two counts of inc-st. When he asked Pruet if he had anything to say, the grandfather replied, “I’m so sorry.” Judge Langton then asked him if that was all, at which time Pruet simply sniffled and bowed his head.
