1. Patriot Paws Mobile Imaging (Opening)
A veteran- and woman-owned enterprise, Patriot Paws Mobile Imaging has commenced operations in the region. The business is led by local VFW and Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association members Katie and Jason Blanco. Their service area covers both Montgomery and parts of Harris County.

2. MIMIIS (Opening)
Latina-owned MIMIIS has opened its first physical store at 22186 Market Place Drive, Ste. 207 in New Caney. The shop sells jewelry, purses, home-decor items, teas and beauty supplies.

3. Captain Crab (Coming Soon)
A new Cajun-seafood restaurant, Captain Crab, is slated to open in 2026 at 20185 Highway 59 in New Caney. Menu highlights are expected to include crawfish, snow crab legs, shrimp po’boys and fried seafood baskets.

4. Gaby’s Event Rentals (Anniversary)
Gaby’s Event Rentals will mark its five-year anniversary on October 31. The company serves multiple communities (including Cleveland, Crosby, New Caney, Splendora and The Woodlands) and offers inflatables, event furniture, decorative backdrops and yard-games for rentals.

5. Humble Area Assistance Ministries (Anniversary)
The local nonprofit Humble Area Assistance Ministries (HAAM) celebrated 35 years of service this year. Its programs span basic-needs assistance, employment services, senior care, family services, disaster relief and more—serving Northeast Harris County and eastern Montgomery County.

6. Birria Box (Relocation)
The popular food truck Birria Box, which formerly operated at a fixed location in Porter, has shifted to a roaming model. Starting in September, the truck will make stops at various locations along FM 1314, including at Final Gravity BrewPub in Porter.
